The meaning and its constituent ingredients
This represents the rationale behind our adopted slogan. “Care and Repair” and means endeavouring to:
Care:
Have a caring, empathetic approach that will facilitate effective insight into the needs and interests of all of our partners – especially home occupiers, our staff, personal care and support professionals and commissioners.
Have a kind attitude, displaying such in behaviour towards our home occupiers, our staff, and in fact everyone we ever deal with.
We are committed to:
C – Consulting; asking our partners, “how are we doing for you?”
A – Actively listening to what is being said, no matter who is saying it, recognising that everyone has different but equal importance, and taking them seriously,
R – Responding to what is heard, in a timely and appropriate way,
E – Effecting change, engaging with our stakeholders, acting accordingly, and always treating everyone with respect and courtesy.
Repair:
In the context of Branch Housing, the meaning is multi-faceted, not just in the physical sense of maintaining and repairing the properties under our stewardship, but also emotional repair; having concern for the wellbeing of our tenants, mindful of their feelings and the effects on their mental health.
We are therefore committed to:
- Prioritising and fixing any problems quickly, to the highest standard, and without any unnecessary delay.
- Acknowledging and responding to any issues, especially for home occupiers, which are creating barriers to them living comfortably at home. The nature of these will often be both practical and emotional.
- Engaging fully with all partners as relevant, to effectively “repair”, whether physically or emotionally.
